Albury - Wodonga Base Hospital Redevelopment

The proposed Albury-Wodonga Base Hospital Redevelopment will be delivered over three stages at the current Albury base Hospital site. Included in the scope of the project is:

  • construction of new clinical services building
  • a new helipad, with intensive care unit and emergency department access
  • neonatal facilities
  • operating theatres
  • a 32-bed mental health facility to replace the Nolan House Mental Health Unit, and
  • expanded outpatient and specialist facilities.

Following the project’s construction, the existing Wodonga campus will be redeveloped into a community facility.

Victorian Government

Prior to the joint announcemnt of $450 million between the NSW and Victorian Governments the Federal and NSW Governments allocated $108 million to the project.

PROJECT HISTORY

Oct 2022 The NSW and Victorian Governments made a joint funding announcement for the Hospital Redevelopment.
Oct 2023 The NSW Government released the Draft Master Plan for the Albury-Wodonga Regional Hospital. The Master Plan provided updated forecast construction dates, which is scheduled to now commence in 2025 and be complete in 2028.
Nov 2023 The NSW Government released updated procurement and delivery timelines for the project in the 2023-24 State Infrastructure Plan. Procurement for the project is scheduled to commence by the end of 2023, with a contract expected to be awarded by the end of 2024. Construction is expected to commence in early 2025.
