The Brisbane Metro will see the adoption of a high frequency rapid transit transport system along 21 kilometres of existing busway between the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and Eight Mile Plains.

The Systems Design and Delivery contract comprises the design, delivery and maintenance of the Brisbane Metro support and operations systems.

In July 2018 the Brisbane City Council (BCC) announced that the Collaborative Partnership delivering the Inner-City Infrastructure Works would also procure the Systems Design and Delivery contract. The BCC will conduct the Expression of Interest (EOI) phase and identify a shortlist for the Request For Proposal (RFP) phase, with the Collaborative Partnership to then procure the contract.

The contract will be a Design and Construct contract.

EOIs are expected to be called for in early-2019, with RFPs called for around Q1 2020, following finalisation of the Collaborative Partnership. Contract award is indicatively scheduled for Q3 2020.
