Stage 2 at Mt Druitt Hospital will provide new facilities for elective surgery in addition to existing hospital services. This includes:

- new community dialysis centre with dedicated parking;
- new MRI unit, which will provide new non-invasive diagnostic service;
- new Recovery addition, which will include an additional operating room and peri-operative support refurshment;
- new Drug Health Expansion with consulting, counselling ans support areas; and
- relocation of the existing pre-admission clinics to a new purpose-built facility.

Kane Constructions has been awarded the contract to deliver the new renal dialysis centre and drug and alcohol building while Fugen Constructions has been awarded a refurbishment package for the MRI centre and an additional operating theatre.
