Fortescue Future Industries have proposed a 250-megawatt green hydrogen production facility at Bell Bay, north of Launceston in Tasmania.
The plant would be located on TasPorts' land in the Bell Bay Industrial Precinct following the signing of an options agreement between Fortescue and TasPorts in June 2021. The proposed plant would produce up to 250,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year for domestic use and international export.
