The Depot Works package will see the design and construction of a 10-hectare metro vehicle fleet depot at School Road, Rochdale. The depot will include:
- storage and maintenance for the new battery electric Brisbane Metro fleet, initially comprising 60 vehicles
- flash charging technology which can recharge a Brisbane Metro vehicle in under six minutes
- a large solar photovoltaic system to offset some operational demands for Brisbane Metro
- a 15 bay maintenance garage, and
- office, training, driver and staff facilities.

| 2017 | $430 million in funding was allocated towards the project over forward estimates in the BCC’s 2017-18 Annual Plan and Budget. A further $300 million was allocated to the project in the State Budget, with the revenue assumption for this contribution over the forward estimates based on an expected contribution from State and Federal Governments. |
| 2018 | BCC's 2018-19 Budget allocated circa $708 million over the forward estimates towards Brisbane Metro out of the $3.1 billion Budget. The allocation confirms the Council’s commitment to funding circa two-thirds of the project cost, with the Federal Government committing the remaining $300 million in the 2018-19 Budget. The Federal Government funding will be provided between FY2018-19 and FY2023-24. |
