The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section of Inland Rail will upgrade approximately 185 kilometres of existing rail corridor and construct approximately two kilometres of new track near Moree, New South Wales. The project is being delivered in two phases.
According to the Environmental Impact Statement, Phase Two of the Narrabri to North Star section includes:
- upgrading 11.8 kilometres of track
- 1,100 new drainage culverts
- construction of 1.6 kilomtres of new track and formation to bypass the Camurra hairpin
- relocation and upgrade of nine level crossings and modification to Gwydirfield Road, The Rocks Road, and Backpally Road
- demolition and reconstruction of eight bridges at Mehi River, Gwydir River, Skinners Creek, Duffys creek and four unnamed watercourses, and
- ancillary works.
