Jerrara Power Energy from Waste Project

Jerrara Power is proposing an Energy from Waste facility at 974 Jerrara Road, Bungonia, near Marulan in NSW. It would provide an average of 28 megawatts into the grid once operational.

The facility would source and thermally process around 330,000 tonnes of waste per annum from the area as well as from the Sydney Basin.

The project will include:

  • a visitor and education centre
  • a carpark
  • adminstration building
  • weighbridges
  • internal roads
  • water management infrastructure
  • temporary construction workforce accomodation, and
  • overhead powerlines to a 66 kilovolt substation.

Apr 2021 Jerrara Power announced its proposal to build a new Energy from Waste facility in Bungonia.
May 2021 Jerrara Power held a series of community workshops to inform the development of its scoping report.
Jun 2021 Jerrara Power has lodged its scoping report with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and requested Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
Jul 2021 Jerrara Power opened expressions of interest for the community reference group, with six positions open for community representatives.
