Lotterywest is a wholly state-owned corporation, overseeing the operation of lotteries in Western Australia, as well as the distribution of a proportion of the funds raised to charitable and community organisations.
Presently, Lotterywest is the only remaining publicly-owned lottery in Australia. While the current Government committed not to lease assets, Lotterywest has been retained in the pipeline as a likely medium term proposition, given the high public sector debt levels and the concurrent need for infrastructure investment.
Lotterywest reported total sales of over $827 million in FY2016/17, with circa $301 million in assets.
