The 1,700 kilometre Bruce Highway is Queensland's major north-south road corridor, connecting coastal population centres from Brisbane to Cairns and supporting around 58 per cent of Queensland's population.
The Mackay Ring Road - Stage 2 builds on the Mackay Ring Road - Stage 1 project by connecting the Bruce Highway at Glenella, north-west of Mackay, heading east to Harbour Road via an 8.2-kilometre corridor south of the rail line.
The Federal Government has committed $280 million to deliver the project.
