Marlborough Schools Project – Te Tātoru o Wairau

This project will co-locate Marlborough Boys' and Marlborough Girls' College on the site currently occupied by Marlborough Girls' and Bohally Intermediate School. The Intermediate School will be relocated and rebuilt on the current Marlborough Boys' College site - at College Park.

The co-location of Marlborough Boys' and Girls' Colleges and relocation of Bohally Intermediate School is set to be one of the biggest projects that the New Zealand Ministry of Education has delivered.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jul 2020 The New Zealand Ministry of Education issued a Notice of Information announcing market briefings to be held on 3rd and 4th of August 2020 for the main contract.
Aug 2020 Market briefings were held in Blenheim and Christchurch as the first step of main contract procurement for the project. Later in August, the New Zealand Government called for ROIs for the Marlborough Schools Project. As part of the ROI process, main contractors and consultants were asked to provide feedback on Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) sub-options detailed at market briefings.
Feb 2021 The contract was awarded to Naylor Love.
Mar 2021 The master planning and design phase commenced.
Jun 2021 The project was formally renamed Te Tātoru o Wairau.
May 2022 The NZ Ministry of Education announced College Park as the preferred site for the relocation of the Bohally Intermediate College.
Jul 2022 The NZ Ministry of Education released the project's building zone plans as part of the project's master planning process.
