The New Zealand Housing Acceleration Fund will aim to increase the supply of houses and improve housing affordability. It will be used to accelerate developments on vacant Crown land and support the delivery of housing for low to moderate income households. The Fund will focus on priority locations and will be complemented by the Kāinga Ora Land Program, which will purchase land to accelerate the delivery of diverse housing developments.
The project consists of two components:
- an infrastructure fund to oversee a mix of private sector-led and government-led developments, and
- additional funding for the Land for Housing Program.
