Ørsted Offshore Australia 1 Pty Ltd (Gippsland 02) is a proposed offshore wind project with up to two gigawatts of electricity generation capacity. It has been proposed for the Gippsland Offshore Wind Zone off the coast of Victoria.
Gippsland 02 is proposed to be located between 56 and 100 kilometres off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria.

PROJECT HISTORY
| May 2024 | The Federal Government announced a preliminary intention to award Ørsted an offshore feasibility licence for Gippsland 02 off the Gippsland coast. The licence allows proponents to undertake feasibility works to progress to a commercial licence. The license award is subject to consultation with Native Title holders in accordance with the Native Title Act. |
