The proposed Albury-Wodonga Base Hospital Redevelopment will be delivered over three stages at the current Albury base Hospital site. Included in the scope of the project is:
- construction of new clinical services building
- a new helipad, with intensive care unit and emergency department access
- neonatal facilities
- operating theatres
- a 32-bed mental health facility to replace the Nolan House Mental Health Unit, and
- expanded outpatient and specialist facilities.
Following the project’s construction, the existing Wodonga campus will be redeveloped into a community facility.

Oct 2022 | The NSW and Victorian Governments made a joint funding announcement for the Hospital Redevelopment. |
Oct 2023 | The NSW Government released the Draft Master Plan for the Albury-Wodonga Regional Hospital. The Master Plan provided updated forecast construction dates, which is scheduled to now commence in 2025 and be complete in 2028. |
Nov 2023 | The NSW Government released updated procurement and delivery timelines for the project in the 2023-24 State Infrastructure Plan. Procurement for the project is scheduled to commence by the end of 2023, with a contract expected to be awarded by the end of 2024. Construction is expected to commence in early 2025. |
