The Aurora Green offshore wind farm is a proposed three gigawatt offshore wind project proposed for the Gippsland Offshore Wind Zone off the coast of Victoria.

The project wil be located in excess of 25 kilometres from the Gippsland coastline.

It is being developed by Iberdrola Australia.

PROJECT HISTORY

Dec 2022 The Federal Government declares a 15,000 square kilometre area off Gippsland, Victoria as an offshore wind area.
May 2024 The Federal Government announces it granted six feasibility licences to projects for the Gippsland Offshore Wind Zone and intended to grant another six, including to Aurora Green, subject to First Nations consultation.
Jul 2024 Iberdrola Australia was granted a feasibility licence for the Gippsland Offshore Wind Zone for the project. The licence allows proponents to undertake feasibility works to progress to a commercial licence.
