Avonside Solar Farm

The project is a proposed 180 megawatt (MW) Solar Farm and battery located approximately 70 kilometres east of Dubbo, in the NSW Central West - Orana Renewable Energy Zone.

The scope of the project comprises construction of:

  • a 180-MW solar farm
  • a 400-MW / 400-MWh BESS
  • one onsite substation, and
  • supporting infrastructure.

The project is expected to connect to EnergyCo’s Merotherie Energy Hub via an overhead transmission line.

Nov 2023 The proponent lodged a Request for the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
