Bellambi Heights Battery Energy Storage System

The Bellambi Heights Battery Energy Storage system, proposed by Vena Energy, is a 408-megawatt (MW) / 816-megawatt hour (MWh) battery to be located in Beryl NSW, approximately 85 kilometres east of Dubbo. 

The project will be delivered in two stages, each providing 204 MW and 408 MWh of capacity and storage. The project site is located within the Central West Orana REZ.

PROJECT HISTORY

Mar 2022 A Scoping Report and request for the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were published for the project.
Apr 2023 SEARs were granted for the project.
Jul 2023 The Environmental Impact Statement was published and placed on public exhibition.
May 2024 The NSW Government granted planning approval for the project.
