The Brisbane Metro will see the adoption of a high frequency rapid transit transport system along 21 kilometres of existing busway between the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and Eight Mile Plains.
The Depot works will see the design and construction of the metro vehicle fleet depot at School Road, Rochdale. The depot will comprise:
- vehicle fuelling and cleaning facilities;
- a 15 bay maintenance garage; and
- office, training, driver and staff facilities.
The Depot will be delivered under a Design and Construct contract.
Procurement of the Depot is scheduled to begin in Q1 2019 with a call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and will be followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) in Q2 2019. Contract award is expected in Q3 2019.
