The Brisbane Metro will see the adoption of a high frequency rapid transit transport system along 21 kilometres of existing busway between the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and Eight Mile Plains. It includes 18 stations, including 11 interchange stations, two of which will link to the State Government's planned Cross River Rail.
The Inner-City Infrastructure works comprises the major civil construction components of the project. These include:
- a new underground Cultural Centre station
- a new North Quay/Adelaide Street Tunnel, running from the Victoria Bridge to King George Square station, and
- station works at Roma Street, King George Square, South Bank and Mater Hill.
