The Brisbane Metro will see the adoption of a high frequency rapid transit transport system along 21 kilometres of existing busway between the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and Eight Mile Plains. It includes 18 stations, including 11 interchange stations, two of which will link to the State Government's planned Cross River Rail.
The Suburban Infrastructure Works will see 13 existing busway stations upgraded to cater for the metro vehicles. This will involve platform extensions and ticketing and signage upgrades.
