Centenary Bridge Upgrade

The proposed Centenary Bridge Upgrade will see the delivery of a new Bridge over the Brisbane River, and upgrades to the existing Centenary Bridge.

The scope of works for the Centenary Bridge Upgrade, comprises:

  • a new three-lane northbound bridge
  • remediation of the existing bridges to create three southbound lanes, and
  • upgrades to active transport facilities.

PROJECT HISTORY

Oct 2022 Proposed designs were released for the project.
Dec 2022 A Georgiou Group and BMD Constructions Joint Venture was awarded the construction contract for the project. In addition, the Queensland Government announced the project's total estimated cost increased to $299 million.
Apr 2023 Initial works commenced on the project.
Nov 2023 The Federal Government committed an additional $27 million to the project in the IIP Strategic Review.
