Central Coast Highway Duplication

The project will widen a 3.8-kilometre section of the Central Coast Highway, making it a dual carriageway in both directions along the full route between M1 Pacific Motorway at Kariong to Bateau Bay. 

The Central Coast Highway is the main state road linking the M1 Pacific Motorway to Gosford, Erina, Terrigal and The Entrance.

PROJECT HISTORY

Mar 2019 The NSW Government announced funding for the project.
Jun 2020 The NSW Government sought public feedback on the project's initial designs.
Dec 2020 The NSW Government released a Community Consultation Summary Report.
May 2021 Transport for NSW awarded WSP the development design contract for the 3.8 kilometre upgrade between Wamberal and Bateau Bay. The second stage of the designs will be available for public consultation in late-2021. A concept design and environmental assessment of the Tumbi Road intersection is being fast-tracked and is expected to also be open late this year.
