The Clean Energy Link - North Project is a proposed 330-kilovolt (kV) and 132-kV transmission line and terminal builds within the existing network which will connect Western Power’s Northern Terminal in Malaga to Neerabup Terminal in Pinjar. Work will also include existing line conversions and reinforcement work.
The Northern Terminal to Three Springs Terminal contract includes conversion of 290 kilometres of existing 132 kV transmission line to 330 kV from Northern Terminal in Malaga to substations at Pinjar, Regans, Cataby, Eneabba and then Three Springs, and a new double circuit transmission line between Eneabba and Eneabba Terminal.

PROJECT HISTORY
Feb 2024 | The project was referred to the WA Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water for State and Federal approval. |
Jul 2025 | The WA Government has announced the signing of a contract with UGL to deliver works at the Three Springs Terminal and at Neerabup Terminal, including transmission and electrical substation equipment, transmission line modification works, and connection of the Neerabup Terminal to the Neerabup Substation. Construction is expected to commence this year and be complete in 2027. |
