Someva is proposing the 150-megawatt (MW) Coonerang Wind Farm and battery, to be located 11 kilometres south-east of Cooma and 8.5 kilometres nortwest of Nimmitabel, NSW.
The project scope includes:
- a 150-MW wind farm comprising 34 wind turbines
- a 100 MW / 400 megawatt hour battery
- electricity transmission infrastructure, and
- other associated works.

Aug 2023 | The project proponent lodged a scoping report to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and requested the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs). |
Oct 2023 | The NSW Department of Planning and Environment issued the SEARs for the project. |
Dec 2024 | The NSW Government issued a Supplementary SEARs for the project. The new SEARs for the project confirmed the number of turbines on the project has increased from 25 to 34, however, the proposed generation capacity has remained at 150 MW. |
