Coopers Gap Wind Farm

Coopers Gap Wind Farm, developed by Tilt Renewables, is a 453MW wind generation facility located 250 km north-west of Brisbane. The scope of the works includes:

  • up to 123 wind turbines
  • a new substation
  • access roads
  • transmission lines, and 
  • other associated infrastructure. 

The project was originally proposed by AGL, but was sold to Tilt Renewables in 2017.

Financing

Debt finance for the project was provided by Westpac Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Societe Generale, DBS Bank, Mizuho Bank and ABN Amro. Individual financing amounts have not been disclosed.

PROJECT HISTORY

May 2016 AGL published an initial scoping report for the project.
Sep 2016 The draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was opened for public comment, until the 7th of November.
Mar 2017 Final approvals were granted for the project.
Aug 2017 AGL reached financial close on the sale of Coopers Gap Wind Farm to Tilt Renewables.
Sep 2017 Major works commenced on the project.
Apr 2020 Major works on the project were completed.
