Defence Establishment Orchard Hills Redevelopment

The Department of Defence have announced the redevelopment of the Defence Establishment Orchard Hills base. The scope of the project includes delivery of a base entrance upgrade, infrastructure and service upgrades, new working and living-in accomodation, and new training and fitness facilities.

The project is being delivered alongside co-located upgrades to the Guided Weapons Explosive Ordnance Stoarge Program.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jun 2024 The Department of Defence submitted a project summary and overview to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works.
2025 Hansen Yuncken were appointed as Managing Contrcators for the project
Jan 2026 The Federal Government announced ADCO Constructions had been appointed to deliver the co-located Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Storage facility. The contract has a value of $210 million, and is expected to be completed in late 2027. Additionally, the Government confirmed an updated cost $298 million for the Defence Establishment Orchard Hills redevelopment, with construction expected to be complete in early 2029.
