Dinawan Wind Farm

The Dinawan Wind Farm is Stage Two of the Dinawan Energy Hub, to be located within the South-West Renewable Energy Zone and connect to the Dinawan Substation.

The project is expected to include:

  • 200 wind turbines, with a generation capacity of 1.2 gigawatts
  • electrical collection system, substation and control room
  • electricity transmission line infrastructure, and 
  • other ancillary facilities.

PROJECT HISTORY

Nov 2022 The NSW Department of Planning and Environment published Spark Renewables' Request for the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) and Scoping Report for the Dinawan Wind Farm, Stage Two of the Dinawan Energy Hub.
Dec 2022 The NSW Department of Planning and Environment Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements were issued for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement of the project.
Jun 2024 The project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was published on the NSW Major Project Portal. The EIS detailed a reduced project scope, with the proposed generation capacity reducing from 1.5 GW to 1.2 GW, and number of turbines reducing from 250 to 200.
