Eastern Hub Firming Battery

The Eastern Hub Firming Battery is a proposed one-gigawatt Battery Energy Storage System, to be located near Uralla, NSW. The project's duration will be between four and eight hours (between four gigawatt hours (GWh) and eight GWh). The proejct will connect to the existing Eastern Hub Substation.

The Battery forms part of the Hillview Energy Hub, developed by ACE Power.

PROJECT HISTORY

May 2024 ACE Power submitted a Scoping Report to the NSW Government, requesting the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the project. The Scoping Report set out set out the proposed scope, a one-GW / four-GWh battery.
Jul 2024 The SEARs were issued for the project.
