Eurobodalla Regional Hospital Redevelopment

The new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will be located in south-east Moruya on the far South Coast of NSW. Works as part of the project will include:

  • an emergency department with a larger capacity than the current combined emergency services of Moruya and Batemans Bay Hospitals
  • an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Close Observation Unit (COU)
  • increased capacity for chemotherapy treatments and access to renal dialysis
  • surgical and operating theatres and a day stay surgical unit
  • expanded medical imaging, including a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) service
  • ambulatory care for community outpatient services
  • paediatric and maternity services, and a special care nursery
  • mental health beds for short term admissions, and
  • enhanced education and training facilities, including a simulation laboratory.

Mar 2019 The Government committed to delivering a new Eurobodalla Hospital in the lead up to the NSW state election.
Jun 2019 The 2019-20 NSW Budget committed $10.1 billion over four years to NSW health infrastructure including the commence works at the Eurobodalla hospital. The Budget identified that the project's estimated total cost was $150 million.
Nov 2020 The NSW Budget t includes funding $10 million of funding in FY2020-21 for the site identification, acquisition, planning and delivery of a new Eurobodalla Hospital. The new estimated total cost for the project is $200 million.
Dec 2020 The site location for hte Eorbodalla Hospital was announced in south-east Moruya.
Dec 2021 The masterplan is released.
Jun 2022 The NSW 2022-23 Budget confirms an additional $60 million of funding, bringing the total project cost to $260 million.
Aug 2022 Concept released are released.
Mar 2023 Early works commence.
Apr 2023 Multiplex was awarded the contract for the design & planning.
Jun 2024 The NSW 2024-25 Budget confirmed an additional $70 million for the project, bringing the total project cost to $330 million. The funding formed part of an additional package of $395.3 million for hospital upgrades across NSW.
Jun 2024 Multiplex Constructions was formally awarded the main works contract for the project.
