Mar 2023 The South Australian Government accepted the recommendation from SA Water to select Billy Lights Point as the preferred site for the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant.

Nov 2023 SA Water announced Acciona had been awarded the ECI contract for the delivery of the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project.
