Ganymirra and Majors Creek Solar Power Station

The Ganymirra and Majors Creek Solar Power Stations are proposed large-scale renewable energy projects with a combined generation capacity of up to 360 megawatts, near Woodstock, 40 kilometres south-west of Townsville, Queensland.

The project will also include:

  • solar PV arrays, 330 kV substation, and Powerlink transmission connection infrastructure

  • option for a 4-hour BESS with up to 600 MWh storage

  • potential renewable hydrogen production for Townsville and export markets

PROJECT HISTORY

Dec 2024 Edify announced the award of two 15-year Tender 1 contracts under the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) for the Ganymirra and Majors Creek projects.
Sep 2025 Edify Energy was acquired by Canadian institutional investor La Caisse.
Oct 2025 The project was awarded a Capacity Investment Scheme Agreement as part of the Capacity Investment Scheme Tender Round Four.
