The NSW Government have proposed redeveloping Garfield Road in Sydney's North-West, between Windsor Road and Richmond Road. The project is being developed across three packages.
The Garfield Road East Upgrade is a 3.7km package of work between Piccadilly Street and Windsor Road in the North West Growth Area of Sydney. The full scope of the project includes:
- Widening Garfield Road from two to four lanes, with the future provision of six lanes,
- New and upgraded intersections,
- Bus prioritisation measures, and
- Construction of pedestrian access.
Details and funding arrangements for Garfield Road West and Central Packages are yet to be announced.

| Jun 2025 | Transport for NSW commenced procurement on the Garfield Road East project, opening Registrations of Interest. The project is expected to commence in mid-2026 and be complete in late-2028. |
| Jul 2025 | Infrastructure NSW released an updated delivery timeline. Construction is scheduled to commence in Q4 2026, and be complete in Q1 2029. |
| Aug 2025 | Transport for NSW announced at its InMotion 2025 conference that the Request for Tender for the project's Design and Construct contract is expected to be released in Q4 2025. |
