Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rocks Road Upgrade - Stage One

The Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rocks Road upgrade include delivery of stage improvements to the Gateway Motorway, Bruce Highway and Gympie Arterial Road interchange.

The project is being procured in conjunction with the Gateway Motorway, Bracken Ridge to Pine River upgrade as part of the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade (G2BU) project.

Procurement note:

The project will be delivered through a Design and Construct contract, with the successful tenderer selected through an Early Contractor Involvement process.

Two proponents will be invited to execute a Stage One Contract, including preliminary planning and design work over a 16-week period, prior to the announcement of a successful Stage Two Offer to deliver the project.

PROJECT HISTORY

Dec 2023 The Queensland Government announced the whole Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rocks Road upgrade project's total estimated cost had increased to $1.9 billion, with Stage One a total estimated cost of $948 million.
Jun 2024 The Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2024-25 confirmed Stage One has a total estimated cost of $948 million. The Budget allocated $393 million to the project over the next four years, with $519 million in expected expenditure outside the forward estimates.
Sep 2024 The Queensland Government opened Expressions of Interest for the delivery of the Gateway to Bruce Highway Upgrade (G2BH) project, closing on 8 October. The G2BH Project includes delivery of the Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rock Road Upgrade and Gateway Motorway, Bracken Ridge to Pine River upgrade. The project will be delivered through a Design and Construct contract, with an Early Contractor Involvement process.
