The Glenrowan BESS is a proposed battery located approximately nine kilometres south-west of Glenrowan and five kilometres north-east of Winton, Victoria.
The Glenrowan BESS is expected to include:
- a BESS with a capacity of 400 megawatts / 1,600 megawatt hours
- inverters, transformers, switch rooms and control buildings
- substation and associated electrical infrastructure
- a 200-kilovolt underground transmission connection to the existing Glenrowan Terminal Station
- operations and maintenance building
- security fencing, firebreaks and monitoring systems, and
- auxiliary power supplies and water tanks.
