Glenrowan BESS

The Glenrowan BESS is a proposed battery located approximately nine kilometres south-west of Glenrowan and five kilometres north-east of Winton, Victoria.

The Glenrowan BESS is expected to include:

  • a BESS with a capacity of 400 megawatts / 1,600 megawatt hours
  • inverters, transformers, switch rooms and control buildings
  • substation and associated electrical infrastructure
  • a 200-kilovolt underground transmission connection to the existing Glenrowan Terminal Station
  • operations and maintenance building
  • security fencing, firebreaks and monitoring systems, and
  • auxiliary power supplies and water tanks.
