Squadron Energy is developing the Gol Gol Battery, comprising a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a proposed capacity of up to 1.5-gigawatts / 12-gigawatt hours. The scope also includes connection to an adjacent 220 kilovolt (kV) transmission line, ancillary and temporary infrastructure, including up to three substations.
The project is to be located in NSW, approximately 10 kilometres north east of Mildura and within the South-West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).
This project will be developed in parallel with Gol Gol Solar Farm and Gol Gol Wind Farm.
