Goldfields Pipeline Renewal

The Goldfields Pipeline Renewal is a planned suite of upgrades to the Goldfield Water Supply Scheme, linking the Mundaring Weir in Perth to Kalgoorie-Boulder in Central WA. The project is expected to be delivered over a 70-year timeframe, with works to be announced on a rolling basis.

Stage 1 of the project includes:

  • replacing 44.5 kilometres of pipeline along the central portion of the pipeline
  • valve upgrades to improve network reliability, and 
  • upgrades to Binduli Reservoir in Kalgoorlie, doubling storage capacity.

Sep 2021 Public consultation on heritage plans for the project commenced
Apr 2024 The 2025-26 Western Australia Budget allocated $15 million to commence planning and scoping works for the project.
