Goorambat East Solar Farm

ENGIE is delivering the Goorambat East Solar Farm, a 250 MW utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar farm on Yorta Yorta Country, approximately 12 km north of Benalla, Victoria. The project includes:

  • installation of a 250 MW solar PV farm

  • construction of a new Goorambat East Terminal Station alongside the existing 220 kV transmission line, and

  • associated infrastructure including internal access roads, cabling, inverters, transformers, and operations buildings

Debt Finance: Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank announced a AUD 348 million debt and bank guarantee facility for Goorambat East Solar Farm. The bank is acting as Initial Financer, Bank Guarantee Facility Provider, and Hedge Provider on this transaction.

The project was initially proposed by Neoen, prior to its aquisition by ENGIE in 2023.

PROJECT HISTORY

Aug 2019 A Planning Permit for the project was lodged with the Benalla Rural City Council.
Jan 2020 The project recieved development approval from the Benalla Rural City Council.
Jun 2024 Early works complete.
Oct 2024 Construction commenced. The first construction to occur will be the external road upgrades and internal roads. The installation of solar panels expected to begin in early 2025.
