PROJECT HISTORY

Dec 2024 The Federal Government announced that the Goyder North Stage One Wind Farm was awarded a Capacity Investment Scheme Agreement under Tender Round One.
Mar 2025 The Goyder North Wind Farm, as part of the Goyder Renewables Zone, was included in the Federal Government's inaugural Renewable Energy Priority List. The Priority List aims to provide coordinated support through Federal, state and territory regulatory and environmental approval processes on a case-by-case basis and provide a 'faster to yes, faster to no' approach to regulatory approvals.
Feb 2026 Goyder North received Federal Government approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (Cth)1999.
Jul 2026 UGL was awarded the Balance of Plant contract to deliver Stage Two of Neoen’s Goyder Battery in South Australia, as part of Neoen’s Northern Goyder Renewables Zone. Stage Two has a capacity of 227 megawatt / 907 megawatt-hours, and matches Goyder Battery Stage One’s capacity, also under delivery by UGL. Site works for Stage Two are expected to commence in August, with the project anticipated to be operational in 2028.
Oct 2026 Neoen announced that contracts had been awarded and construction had commenced on Stage One of the Goyder North Wind Farm. Vestas was awarded the contract deliver the 346-megawatt wind farm, including supply of 48 turbines, and Downer was selected to design and construct the overhead transmission line and switching station to connect the project to the NEM.
