Gunning Solar Farm

Gunning Solar Farm is a proposed 250 megawatt (MW) solar farm and 150MW/600 megawatt hour Battery Energy Storage System. It is expected to be constructed across 676 hectares of land in Lade Vale, approximately 12 kilometres southwest of Gunning. In addition to the solar panels and battery system, works include:

  • an onsite 330 kilovolt substation 
  • inverter and transformer units
  • one switchyard and control room, and
  • underground and above ground cables.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jul 2022 A scoping report was published for the project alongside a request for SEARs.
Sep 2022 The NSW Department of Planning and Environment issued the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the project.
Nov 2023 The project's Environmental Impact Statement was placed on public exhibition, closing 12 December.
