The proposed Hanworth Battery, located near Bannaby, west of Bowral in NSW, would comprise a 1.2-gigawatt (GW) / 4.8-gigawatt hour (GWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The full scope of works includes:
- a 1.2-GW / 4.8-GWh BESS
- onsite switching station
- overhead transmission lines connecting the project to Transgrid's existing substation, and
- ancillary infrastructure.
