Hopeland Solar Farm

Hopeland Solar Farm is a proposed 300-megawatt (MW) solar farm to be developed in Western Downs, Queensland.

The placement of the solar farm close to Western Downs sub-station was selected for the potential co-location with a 175-MW / 305-MWh battery.

PROJECT HISTORY

Aug 2023 CIMIC Group company Pacific Partnerships acquired the development rights for the 300-megawatt Hopeland Solar Farm in Queensland. They purchased the project from Renewable Energy Partners.
Apr 2024 Pacific Partnerships announced that the application for future connection of the solar farm to the National Electricity Grid has been approved. The Australian Energy Market Operator issued a 5.3.4A letter of approval, based on evaluation of the asset’s proposed generator performance standards, its impact to the network and its grid compliance with regulatory standards.
Dec 2024 The Federal Government has announced the project has been awarded a Capacity Investment Scheme Agreement under Tender Round One.
