The new Integrated Mental Health Complex in Westmead will comprise of a mental health assessment unit, mental health beds, ambulatory and outpatient services and education facilities. The facility will be linked to the Central Acute Services Building at Westmead Hospital and will replace the existing mental health facilities at Cumberland Hospital.
The scope of the project includes:
- a Mental Health Acute Assessment Unit to enable efficient assessment, referral and intake of patients
- acute mental health beds, including beds for youth, adolescent, adult, older persons, and adults with eating disorders
- sub and non-acute mental health beds
- multidisciplinary ambulatory and outpatient services, and
- education facilities.
