Koorakee Energy Park

The Koorakee Energy Park is a wind and solar generation project proposed by Squadron Energy. The project is to be located in NSW near the state border, approximately 70 kilometres south-east from Mildura, Victoria. 

The scope of the project includes:

  • a one gigawatt (GW) wind farm, with approximately 167 turbines 
  • a one GW solar farm, with approximately 3,100 hectares of photovolatic panels
  • a one GW / 12 GWh battery energy storage system
  • underground and overhead powerlines to connect the generation infrasturcture to substations and transmission connections, and 
  • ancillary infrasturtcure. 

PROJECT HISTORY

May 2024 A scoping report was published for the project, alongside a request for the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
