Koorangie Energy Storage System

The Koorangie Energy Storage System is a proposed 185 megawatt / 350 megawatt hour storage system to be located near Kerang, Victoria. The project has been proposed by Edify Energy to meet the requirements of its contract with the Australian Energy Market Operator to increase storage capacity in the Murray River Renewable Energy Zone.

PROJECT HISTORY

Sep 2022 The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) awarded Edify Energy a System Support Agreement (SSA) to increase generation capacity in the Murray River region.
Oct 2023 Edify Energy announced a partnership with Sosteneo who will finance the project.
Jul 2024 Construction commenced on the project, with the batteries arriving onsite.
