The Langley Vale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a proposed solar generation and battery storage facility, approximately five kilometres southeast of Gunning, within the Upper Lachlan Shire Council Local Government Area.

The proposed project includes:

  • a solar farm with a generation capacity of 250 megawatts (MW)
  • a 500-MW / 2,000 megawatt hour BESS, and
  • a connection to existing 330-kilovolt transmission lines which transect the site.

The project is being developed by Elgin Energy.

Nov 2025 Elgin Energy submitted a Scoping Report to the NSW Government, requesting the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the project.
Feb 2026 The NSW Government issued the SEARs for the project.
