As part of its Building Better Hospitals program, the Queensland Government is investing $460.9 million into expanding Logan Hospital. This investment will support growing demand for one of South East Queensland's fastest growing areas. The Logan Local Government area population is forecast to grow by 23.3 per cent between 2016 and 2026.
The project will include expansion of Building Three and targeted refurbishment of other locations. It will also involve construction of new wings to accommodate an additional 206 beds, 28 recovery spaces, and two endoscopy suites. The Logan Hospital maternity ward will also be expanded, adding an additional six inpatient beds, five delivery rooms, and 10 cots.
