Stage Two of the Mackay Ring Road will connect the Bruce Highway at Bald Hill Road, Glenella, north-west of Mackay to Harbour Road near the Port of Mackay via an 8.2-kilometre corridor south of the rail line.
The project includes:
- a bridge over the Port Rail line.
- a connection from the Mackay Ring Road to the future Mackay Port Access project
- an intersection upgrade for the Bruce Highway/Bald Hill Road
- duplication of the Bruce Highway between Mackay Ring Road and Mackay Northern Access, and
- duplication of Bruce Highway overpasses.
