The Mariyung Intercity Fleet project will deliver a fleet of 610 carriages to replace the aging V-Line and Oscar intercity fleet. The new fleet will operate on the Sydney to Newcastle, Sydney to Lithgow and Sydney to Kiama lines.
The contract includes:
- delivery of 610 carriages
- a new maintenence facility in Kangy Angy, and
- maintenence over a 15-year period.

Aug 2023 | The NSW Government reached an agreement with the Rail Tram and Bus Union to align the operating model of the Mariyung fleet. |
Dec 2024 | The first trains commenced operations on the North Coast line, with remaining services on the Blue Mountains and South Coast line to commence in the coming months. |
