The Airport Station Package of the Suburban Rail Loop Airport (SRL Airport) comprises the delivery of:
- the new Airport Station, including operational control systems (OCS)
- a new 1.5-kilometre track pair from the new station to Mercer Drive
- overhead wiring system and structures
- land clearing and minor civil works for supporting infrastructure
- Combined Services Route (CSR)
- utility services relocations
- civil structures, and
- roadworks.

| Jun 2021 | Along with the beginning of Expression of Interest process for the Sunshine to Albion Package, Rail Projects Victoria announced its intention to deliver MAR through a total of six major works packages. This included the Airport Station Package. Rail Projects Victoria noted that this packaging structure was subject to scope changes and realignments. |
| Sep 2021 | RPV issued pre-qualification documents for the Airport Station Package of Melbourne Airport Rail, closing on 19 November. An Expression of Interest phase is expected to commence in October. |
| Nov 2021 | Rail Projects Victoria commenced the Expression of Interest (EOI) process for the Airport Station Package, closing on 17 December. |
