The Melton Level Crossing Removal project is being delivered across two packages and will see:
- a new Melton Station with four platforms with pedestrian walkways, cycling paths, pick-up and drop-off zones, and lifts and stairs to each platform
- new rail bridges over Coburns and Exford Road, and
- new road over rail bridges at Ferris Road and Hopkins Road
Package Two includes the Station and rail bridges at Coburns and Exford Road.

| Sep 2026 | The Victorian Government announced that the project had completed construction and had commenced operations. Final works at the station, including landscaping and an extension of public parking, will be completed over the coming months. |
