The Melton Line Upgrade includes an upgrade to existing rail infrastructure in West Melbourne. The scope of the project includes enhanced stabling works and improved stations to accomodate nine-car Vlocity Trains, and the delivery of a new station at Melton.
The progress of this project is reliant on the removal of four level crossings along the line, as part of the Melton Level Crossing Removals project.

The project will see the extension of platforms at Cobblebank, Rockbank, Caroline Springs and Deer Park stations and construction of a new stabling yard at Cobblebank, near the new Melton station being constructed as part of the Melton Level Crossing Removals – Package two, and delivered by the same alliance. |
